  • The ABA provides contact information about and links to lawyer search and referral mechanisms offered by state and local bar associations and other organizations throughout the U.S. at. ABA Lawyer Referral Directory
  • The ABA also provides finding a lawyer tools that include links to programs providing free legal help to people qualifying as low-income, legal services for military families and veterans, and “unbiased referrals to affordable lawyers” at ABA Find Legal Help. That same ABA online resource also provides, among other things, under “Lawyer Licensing” links to state-by-state sources of information to search for attorneys licensed to practice law in the state, and under “Trouble with a Lawyer” information about Fee Arbitration, state-by-state Lawyer Disciplinary Agencies, and a Client Security/Protection Fund.
